A growing advanced manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing process improvement, lean initiatives, production efficiency projects, and new process development within an electronic components manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, electrical testing, manufacturing processes, work-cell design, production engineering, and process optimisation who is looking to make a significant impact on operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive lean manufacturing projects focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and throughput improvement.
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for electronic and electromechanical products.
  • Design and improve work-cell layouts, production flow, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support assembly process development, standard work creation, and process standardisation.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, capital equipment investment, and manufacturing technology improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and ongoing process optimisation activities.
  • Develop technical documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience within electronics manufacturing, component manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or similar production environments.
  • Experience working within AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production equipment, inspection methods, and process controls.
  • Experience with electrical testing of components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude including equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance support.
  • Experience using ERP systems and CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, NX, or CATIA.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project scheduling and manufacturing project execution preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business and customer requirements.
  • Must qualify as a US Person under ITAR regulations.

Preferred Experience

  • Manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • New product introduction (NPI) experience.
  • Process development and manufacturing scale-up experience.
  • Continuous improvement, Kaizen, or Six Sigma project leadership.

Work Environment This position combines office-based engineering responsibilities with regular hands-on involvement on the manufacturing floor. The successful candidate will work closely with production, quality, machining, electrical test, and inspection teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
